NAGOYA SPECIALITIES

TEBASAKI (spicy fried chicken wings)
These spicy chicken wings are some Nagoya’s finest! You can enjoy them at ‘Yamachan’ and ‘Furaibo’, two rival chains with countless izakaya restaurants in the city. These places are also great for trying other izakaya food- and are very reasonably priced. Even with plenty of beer and food, you bill usually only comes to 2000yen

MISO KATSU (Crispy pork cutlet in sweet miso sauce)
‘Yabaton’ The best place for Miso katsu. They have various restaurants in Nagoya, including ‘La Chic’ in Sakae, and ‘ESCA’ underground mall on the west of Nagoya station.

MISO UDON STEW (Miso Nikomi udon)
Yamamotoya ‘Sohonke’ Popular miso udon restaurant in Sakae

HITSUMABUSHI (bbq eel)

CONVEYOR BELT SUSHI
Uoki in JR Nagoya Station, at the South Exit. Good quality, fairly low price sushi- and they have an English menu to help you. You might need to order most of your food from the chefs, since the best stuff is not on the conveyer belt.
Uocyu A chain of 5 Kaitenzushi restaurants. The most central ones are West Side of Nagoya Station and Imaike

CAKES
Sweets Paradise This Japanese chain allow you to eat unlimited cakes (of a reasonable quality) for an hour and a half. Just watch your waistline. Located in the basement of the Spiral Tower opposite Nagoya station, and also in PARCO in Sakae.
UIrou japanese sweet mochi jelly

Sawasdee  The restaurant offers delicious Thai dishes at really good prices. they are also open for lunch, and the lunch deal for 900yen is superb value. They have a choice of 7 Thai dishes (incluing Phad Thai and green Curry) which come with soup, salad and unlimited drinks.  One branch is in Sakae. They are open from 11:30am- 11:00pm.
